About Me

I retired from the classroom after 35 exceptional years with middle and high school students in a variety of settings (mostly urban) and subjects.

A 2003 National Board Certified teacher, I ended my classroom journey designing and teaching an innovative program for high schoolers who planned to become teachers.

From home in Chardon, Ohio, USA, I frequently mentored students on their blogs, have worked on teams to design online professional development for Ohio teachers, and was thrilled to be working with Powerful Learning Practice as a community leader and with connected coaches until March 2016. Now I'm called by gardens, and learning more about and supporting our democracy.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, perhaps this snapshot of where I am, and where I've been  (and all the photos have disappeared into cyberspace) may serve as a window into some of my passions. Other passions that can't be located on a map include the privilege to serve for 2 years on the leadership team of the K12Online Conference as continuity editor and co convener, and participation in CCK08, one of the first massive open online courses (Connectivism and Connective Knowledge).

At LinkedIn you can find more information on my learning and teaching.
